Pack mule.......

Mickey and I headed out on a bit of an adventure today to try out his backpack. We've had it for a while but all it seems to do on my days off is rain lol. Luckily the weather stayed nice and we took a drive to "blue hole" for a hike. Mickey made a fantastic pack mule, he carried our water, keys, and my camera and still managed to drag me through the trails with the extra weight on his back. I tried a few times to coax him into the water.....epic fail this great dane is very affraid of water lol. Maybe next time when it's warm enough for me to get in.

After Lindsay dropped him off here the girls and I loaded up and we took mickey to "blue hole". He loved the different smells, sounds, snd sights. He wasn't so impressed with getting too close to the water lol

Mickey saves a life

Meet Vandy, a 5yr old mix breed. She came into our clinic Monday March 21st with a history off not feeling well for a few days. Not eating, and very lethargic. After some routine bloodwork it was determined that Vandy could benefit from a blood transfusion, and thats where Mickey came in. Mickey donated about 400 ml's of blood to Vandy and after her transfusion we all worried if it was going to work. The following morning miss Vandy was bright and alert, wagging her tails and ready for a walk outside. She ate well, so well that I doubt she even tasted her breakfast. Hopefully with time, and her medications Vandy will be back to her old self! Vandy is pictured here with Dr. Lena Muir the following morning after her transfusion, and Mickey peaking over his kennel to say good morning.

It's getting warmer!

Once again I have neglected regular updates of Mickey's blog but as usual we have been busy. The weather hasn't been perfect either. So today I broke the boy out and took him to the dog park where he played with not one but TWO great danes! We had a lot of fun. Now that we're home Mickey is patrolling the yard while I do some much needed yard work. Just a couple pics of him loving the warm weather.

Relaxing like a prince should

I brought Mickey home for the weekend as usual and luckily the weather suprised us all by being nice. Saturday Mickey enjoyed a romp at the dogs park and spent the evening with his babysitter Dixie. The windows are open today letting in some much needed fresh air and in the midst of it all here is my good ole boy......

Relaxing at the clinic

It's not only been cold but it has also been rainy...so poor Mickey has been stuck indoors at the clinic. Poor guy needed some time out of his kennel and since saturday was slower than normal I gave him a chance to get out and streatch.
